US Dollar Jumped Higher Since Trump Elected

How Far Will The US Dollar Rise.?

Since the US Election on November 8, the US Dollar has moved much higher as traders are expecting higher inflation .

The Trump government will be favoring energies and manufacturing and traders are moving into these stocks.

Another factor pushing the Dollar higher is the rise in bond yields.

Of course the Trump Administration is not yet in place, there may be further developments as weeks pass.

Here is a 240 minute chart of the US Dollar Index, and you will see on there a bearish Fibonacci Pattern, perhaps a signal that the rise is finished. These patterns can not be relied on but it is an indication that there may be an overbought condition at this time.

On Tuesday November 15, there will be the following news releases which may further influence the US Dollar. (From Forex Factory)

Gold Price Analysis As At January 10, 2016

The past week has seen a lot of fluctuation in the Gold Price and there has been news as to China purchasing a gold vault at the London Metals exchange which would indicate more participation by that country in the gold markets.

I am attaching a chart of Gold showing a bearish Shark Pattern which may be a good indication that we will see the price of the metal fall in coming days

Gold Analysis as At January 30, 2015

This has been an interesting week for any Gold trading strategy as the metal has been unable to reach higher ground and instead has drifted lower.

Gold may be moving inverse the the US Dollar which has been galloping higher recently.

As I have mentioned in previous posts, there is considerable resistance to a move higher for gold as illustrated on these charts,

This first chart shows a bearish Fibonacci Pattern on a weekly chart and it appears that the pattern is valid and may indicate a further decline in price

Gold Analysis as at January 17, 2015

Your Gold Trading Strategy will have been altered significantly this week as the metal has made a strong move north.

I have a few charts with some notations for you to have a look at, below those is some current commentary which you may find of interest.

This first chart shows Harmonics and may indicate there will be a reversal.

Here is the pivots on the weekly chart, price has stalled there, at least termporarily.

The Ichimoku Cloud appears to be offering significant resistance on the weekly chart.

On this next chart, which is weekly we can see a bearish Fibonacci pattern

And on this weekly chart we have a bullish Fibonacci Pattern

Now we have the Point & Figure Chart from Stockcharts.com. They have revised the target from $1,050 to $1,510 so this weeks move had had an effect on the P&F calculations.

Chart of the Day - EURJPY Monthly

EURJPY has been going north for more than two years and recently seems to have met some resistance at the high of June 1996.

This chart, being monthly, does not show the swings as would a lower time frame chart, but it shows clearly the long term swings.

I think we can expect some bearish moves based on this Fibonacci Pattern showing a Bearish AB = CD and considering the EU economies at this time.

There is no entry on this chart at present, that would have to be confirmed by price action, preferably using faster charts than monthly.

This video is a very well done presentation regarding Harmonic Trading. It is lengthy but a good investment of time as it covers many aspects of the patterns in detail.

My Gold Analysis as at November 3, 2014

.

So far this week there is no movement in the price of Gold. However, as you can see in the weekly chart below, there is a Fibonacci Pattern that indicates that there may be a bullish move about to develop. I will not be holding my breath for a decent move, this has been going on for a while now, price drifting lower and the odd retrace.

Be sure to have a look at the video at the bottom of this page. Harvey Organ, a noted blogger is discussing some dire consequences for the world economy.

I have collected a couple articles from earlier today, none of the authors are impressed as to the current prospects for price appreciation.

This may point to a rebound.

This Fibonacci pattern is usually a sign of a reversal so we may have some positives to look forward to in the next few days. These patterns are not always to be relied upon, it will take the confirmation of price action to validate the pattern.

Here is the same pattern on the weekly chart which I would tend to think has a greater influence.

What about resistance to a rise in price?

Of course the recent decline has brought with it a resultant resistance to an upward move as shown by the Ichimoku Cloud. As you can see the cloud is fairly thick, resistance would appear to be formidable to a quick advance.
